      A spicy mix of creole seasoned vegetables, plump shrimp and Andouille sausage simmered in a spicy southern inspired roux.

      Ingredients

      Vegetables: Okra, Tomato, Celery, Onions, Green Bell Peppers. Precooked White Rice: Long Grain, Parboiled White Rice (rice, Water) Shrimp, Uncooked Shrimp, Water, Sodium Phosphate. Andouille Sausage: Pork, Water, Seasoning (dehydrated Garlic And Onion, Paprika, Spices, Sugar, Salt, Sassafras), Less Than 2% Salt, Potato Starch, Spices, Smoke Flavoring, Paprika, Natural Flavor. Gumbo Roux Seasoning: Wheat Flour (unbleached Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Salt, Maltodextrin, Caramel Color, Spices, Dehydrated Garlic, Corn Syrup Solids, Onion Powder, Chicken Fat, Silicon Dioxide (prevent Caking).

      Directions

      Cook thoroughly. Skillet Cooking Instructions: Remove roux seasoning packet and rice packet from bag. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a quart or larger pot over medium/high heat. Pour vegetables, sausage, shrimp from bag into pot and saute for 4 minutes. Pour 4-1/2 cups of water into the pot and whisk in the roux seasoning slowly, making sure to mix the roux completely without lumps. Bring gumbo to a slow boil. Add rice, reduce heat, blend thoroughly and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until all ingredients are piping hot. Stir, let sit for a minute. Remove from heat, serve immediately. Cooking times may vary depending upon equipment. Modify time as needed. Product should be cooked thoroughly to a minimum internal temperature of 71 degrees C or 160 degrees F.
