      Carolina Basmati Rice is a long and slender grain rice traditionally found in international cuisine such as Indian. When prepared, Basmati Rice cooks up fluffy, separate, never sticky, and gives off a subtle floral and nutty aroma making it a wonderful addition to all kinds of dishes and desserts alike! Because of its lovely natural flavor, it can also work perfectly in arroz con pollo, southern Jambalaya, Spanish rice, vibrant yellow rice and filled into burritos with cilantro lime rice or stuffed vegetables. Carolina Basmati Rice is Gluten-Free, Non-GMO Project Verified, free of MSG and contains no added preservatives.

      Boil: In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Measure 1 to 2 cups of Carolina® Basmati Rice and add to boiling water. Boil uncovered for 12 minutes. Drain and rinse in a strainer with hot water. Increase water to 12 cups to cook 3 cups of rice. For a more authentic result, soak rice in cold water for 15 minutes before cooking and reduce cooking time to 10 minutes. Do not rinse. Microwave: Cooking direction in the microwave***:

      1. In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish, combine 2 cups water and 1 cup rice.**

      2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.

      **Add 1 Tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired.

      ***It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate.
